Family Picnic June 20 5:30 - 8:30

Bring your blanket and picnic basket to the Lower Field. This is one of the best attended Caulfeild events. Notices went out in back packs last night. The cost is $10 per family and we ask that you bring a dessert for the shared dessert table. Please send in completed forms and payment asap. And please stay behind to ensure we leave no trace of the party - clean up is so important for the school and to show a good example to our kids. Sheryl F has been organizing (thanks Sheryl) and has the DJ lined up, games and the usual fun stuff. She can really use some help. Please email us if you can give your time pac@caulfeildpac.com

Parent / Teacher Roundtable June 23 2:30 - 3:30
Mr Lund has set aside an hour for a small group of parents and our teachers to sit down together and develop ideas on how we can further enrich our students' educational experience at Caulfeild. This is a unique opportunity for both teachers and parents to understand each other's objectives and agree on common ways to achieve them as a team.

We are limited to 5 parents for this session and will choose parents with an attempt to ensure there is a balance between primary and intermediate and all student's needs are represented. Please reply by email to me if you are interested and I will submit your your name. I anticipate we will announce the selected team in a week or so. We may also be repeating this special meeting opportunity next year. If you are not selected for this session, I encourage you to apply again.

Thanks to Mr Lund for making this event happen. This is a wonderful opportunity for Caulfeild parents to make a difference. I look forward to working on implementing some of the recommendations next school year.

Final PAC Meeting Minutes and 2008/2009 Budget
Minutes and new budget will be posted early next week..

PAC Exec Candidates
We have had to postpone voting in a PAC Exec until September. Please consider taking a leadership role on the Exec. It is a rewarding place to put in your volunteer time at the school. The requirement is two meetings per month (one Exec and one General PAC) and access to email. Email Linda if you have any questions or would like to talk about what is involved. THINK GREEN

New this Year: Painting the School Green

Not literally, you’ll be relieved to hear. What’s new is our green team, made up of GMO-free, 100% organic mothers (plus one hormone-free dad) keen to save the environment – starting with Caulfeild School. Our aim is to find simple ways in which all of us (parents, kids, staff, suppliers) can make our school a more planet-friendly place. Small changes can make a big difference; if we all make them.

Caulfeild Community Service

Our SISTER SCHOOL, Florence Nightingale greatly appreciates the Christmas Drive we do each year. This year the collection dates will be December 10, 11 and 12th and once again we ask that you bring non perishable goods and unwrapped new toys. A notice will go home soon to tell you what your classroom’s designation is.

Caulfeild Community Outreach

At Caulfeild, we place great importance on giving back to the community. We realize how fortunate we are living in West Vancouver and greatly appreciate the wonderful school environment that our children are privileged to attend. We truly have a strong sense of community at our school and one of the many ways that this is shown is by the parents’ commitment to “give back” and we do that in many ways…..
