Letter from PAC Chair

If you are reading this I assume you've taken a few minutes out of that hectic life of yours to get caught up with what's happening at school. This is the place to start. Our website will be updated as we get our Execs and other volunteers working on it, so keep coming back and poking around. There are lots of interesting things here now and helpful links under the 'for Parents' or 'Community' pull-downs that will make your life a little easier.

This is where you can see what happens in the PAC Meetings, hear what Mr. Lund has to say, download forms that may have gone missing and check out the calendar to make sure you don't miss any early Pro-D day pick-ups (no names mentioned here....)

I will leave you to it but before I do here's the plug for why you should care about our parent group. Our kids' experience at Caulfeild is enhanced and enriched by the teachers and our staff. That goes without saying. What I didn't know as a new parent was that it's the PAC (the Caulfeild parents) who made many of the unique-to-Caulfeild events happen (think Fall Fling, Bingo Night, Santa Sale, Pumpkin Hunt etc).

And the money our generous parents contribute to PAC pays for library books, playground equipment, computers etc. that would not be there were it not for our donations. If we did not step up as parents, in even small ways, our kids would not have the same school environment they enjoy so much today. It's as simple as that. You make a difference.

Together we are a committed, creative and strong parent group that has the ability to shape our kids future, and make our kids school years at Caulfeild a world-class experience.

I have been asked many times how busy I must be as the new PAC Chair, and the truth of it is all the real work is being done so well by our huge Volunteer group that only the rather boring admin stuff is left for me. That's good.

Our Caufield parents who sign up are so good at what they do these events seem to run themselves, year after year. We all know that's not true. We know it takes skill, energy and time to put teams together and get things done but these gals do this with grace and style. Thanks to all the Volunteers for making Caulfeild a great school. I am excited to be here to help make your jobs easier if I can.

And for those parents who have not yet wanted to get involved, or haven't had the time, check out the Volunteer page and see what jobs need doing. There will be something you can do from the privacy of your home or a group that needs your expertise.

Have a great day Caulfeild (couldn't resist, those Annoucement Kids are so cute...)
